How to Blur Faces in Video Online (Automatic, Private)
Want to blur faces in a video online without installing anything? BlurFaces detects faces automatically and processes videos with a short background step. Your originals aren’t stored, and you can download the blurred MP4 when it’s done.
Quick start
- Open BlurFaces and switch to the Video tab.
- Drop an MP4 (or tap to choose). We automatically find faces.
- Click Process video. Keep the tab open; we’ll notify when it’s ready.
- Download the blurred MP4. Free adds a small corner mark; paid removes it and extends length.
Why BlurFaces for video?
- Automatic face detection: No manual work — we find and blur faces for you.
- Privacy by design: Previews run in your browser; originals aren’t stored server‑side.
- Fast background step: We finish the MP4 for you and keep results ephemeral by default.
- Simple pricing: Free up to 60 seconds; a small pass unlocks up to 5 minutes and removes the watermark.
Tips for best results
- Keep faces in frame: If someone turns away completely or is fully occluded, a frame may not contain a detectable face — that’s normal.
- Lighting helps: Faces are detected more reliably in moderate light without heavy motion blur.
- Crop before upload (optional): Trimming the clip to just what you need saves processing time.
What about selective blurring?
In video mode we currently blur all detected faces automatically to keep things quick and consistent. Need to hide a screen or license plate? Export a still and use photo mode’s manual rectangles, or see our dedicated guide: blur license plates.
Limits and formats
- Free: up to 60 seconds and 50 MB with a small watermark.
- Pass/monthly: up to 5 minutes and 250 MB; watermark optional.
- Format: MP4 (H.264/AAC) recommended for widest compatibility.
Your privacy, built‑in
BlurFaces follows a minimal‑data approach: no accounts, no long‑term storage. Only blurred outputs are ever stored — and only if you explicitly create a 24‑hour ShareLink. We also send X‑Robots‑Tag: noindex on shared assets to discourage indexing.
Protect identities in team clips, classroom reels, interviews, home videos, and marketplace listings — all in a couple of clicks.
